Q Processing Level 2 : Online (RENEWAL)

Service Description

This course is ONLY for students who have previously held QP2 certificates or those who hold certificates expiring soon and would like to renew their credential. This course reviews core QP2 objectives and concepts and presents current techniques and technologies for students to demonstrate their knowledge of the traditional processing methods in post-harvest processing. In addition, students will learn new and relevant information on a variety of rotating processing topics to enrich their skills and the value of their certificate. Each student must complete lessons online, attend or watch live sessions, and pass an online exam to receive a renewed QP2 certificate, valid for 36 months. The online course is composed of 11 units taught over 7 live sessions and concludes with an online final exam. Each live class session is 1 hour 30 minutes long and comprises an online lecture and class discussion. Students may either participate in the session live or watch a recording remotely through the online course platform during the weekly unit. Each unit will be supported with online activities and material designed to support and complement each live session. Order and Topics of Live Course Sessions: Session 1: Introduction, Processing Methods Overview Session 2: Raw Material, Pulping, Mechanical Demucilation Session 3: Fermentation and Washing Session 4: Drying Session 5: Storage Session 6: Quality Evaluation. Waste Management Session 7: Wet Mill Finance After these, all students will be able to take the on-demand Final Exam at any time before the end of the course. Live sessions will be held on the Monday and Thursday of each week during the month. Live session times will be determined per an online poll sent the week prior to the class start date based on registered student availability. If students are unable to attend in person, they will be asked to watch a recording of the session within the same week.
